The partnership between a financial advisor and a CEO can either save a company or propel it to new heights. But what creates the kind of trust that endures through crises and periods of growth?

On a sunny May morning, we sat down with Authorized Accountants Mari Liikanen and Eija Majuri, founding partners of Tilipalvelu Profitas. They shared what real trust between them and their clients actually means. Tilipalvelu Profitas is building trust based on honesty. Tilipalvelu Profitas's honesty has saved several companies. Why do great Financial Advisors disagree with you?

Entrepreneurs need a financial partner they can trust, someone who understands the numbers and isn't afraid to push back, even when it's uncomfortable. Trust doesn't mean always agreeing.

"Sometimes you have to be the not-so-nice one," Mari Liikanen explains. "If something isn't financially sustainable, our job is to make the entrepreneur truly see it and accept that action needs to be taken now." A Tilipalvelu Profitas client story: From crisis to success

Mari Liikanen recalls a client whose situation was deeply troubled. "The finances were a complete mess. For years, we guided them, sometimes with very direct language, to make corrections. After the entrepreneur's hard work, that company is now one of our most profitable clients."

"This kind of transformation requires a fundamental shift in the entrepreneur's mindset, because you have to start looking at your business through numbers rather than emotions," Eija Majuri notes. "The real resource needed for this kind of major change is mental strength."

Often, entrepreneurs are so emotionally invested in their businesses that they want to pour everything into them. "But you have to be able to cut away the unprofitable parts and track where the money actually comes from," Eija Majuri reminds us. Trust is built through small actions

One client gave Mari the gift of commissioning any painting she wanted. "He said working together had been so good. That was beautiful feedback," Mari shares.

Eija remembers a moment during a year-end closing when they were discussing taxable income. "I made a suggestion, and the client said: 'You really know what you're talking about.'"

"Clients want to bounce their ideas off their accountant's perspective: what if I do this? Decades of experience with different clients give Mari and Eija a unique ability: they see things from different angles. A Partner for the Entrepreneur's Life's Work

"For example, if someone who's always been punctual with everything suddenly isn't, we ask: is everything okay?" Mari explains.

"Something might be revealed that surprises the entrepreneur. No one else noticed or asked. That's what builds trust: we're in this for the long haul. You can trust this person with, if not your life, then your life's work, at least," Mari says.

And that's the essence of true partnership: when a financial advisor and CEO trust each other, a company can rise from even the deepest crisis to become a profitable success story.
